Area briefs: Wofford names Sweet volleyball coach

Wofford College has named Ron Sweet as head coach for the women's volleyball team. Sweet most recently was the associate head coach at James Madison University.

CLEMSON: Former tight end and current Indianapolis Colt Dwayne Allen was named to the Pro Football Weekly All-Rookie team.

LIMESTONE: The men's lacrosse team has been picked No. 4 in Lacrosse Magazine's 2013 Preseason Poll.

... The wrestling team will face No. 6 Grand Canyon in the first round of the 2013 NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals. The Saints and Antelopes will square off on Saturday at 12 p.m. at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield, Ill.
