Welcome to the Week 16 waiver wire (or, should I say congratulations?). Unless you play in a backwards league, this is the finals ? bowl week.
Logic says that most of you are here because you have solid teams with sturdy lineups. But injuries still happen, and if you have roster needs, we are here for you. It?s no longer about depth. It?s all about filling whatever holes you might have in your lineup. Feel free to head over to Rotobahn.com later today. I?ll be adding more players as I work through the rest of the Week 15 games. I?ll also add a few plug-and-play defenses for Week 16. Good luck to all this week!
QUARTERBACKS
Sam Bradford, Rams
It?s a one week season and Bradford has a sweet matchup with Tampa. He?s a very solid play if you have a need and you can get him. With Danny Amendola back and healthy, and with Chris Givens stretching the field, the Rams can get it done in the passing game this week.
Nick Foles, Eagles
A home start against the Redskins makes him an option for those in need of a Week 16 quarterback. Foles is good enough to post solid numbers against a generally disorganized Redskins? pass defense. Add him if you need help.
Kirk Cousins, Redskins
If you read our rookie reports this preseason, then you know we like Cousins a lot. He looked ready for prime time last week and he can help those looking for a backup plan for Robert Griffin III in Week 16. Add him if you are a nervous RGIII owner.
RUNNING BACKS
David Wilson, Giants
For all the reasons I?ve mentioned over the last few weeks, you should add this guy. He could help you win a title this week if you have a hole at your flex spot. Even if I didn?t have room for him in my lineup, I might add him just to keep him away from my competition. Wilson may just be a flex if Ahmad Bradshaw returns to practice this week, but he has RB1 upside if he ends up starting. He needs to be owned.
Beanie Wells, Cardinals
Wells looked great last week and he is a viable flex option in 12-team leagues in Week 16 at home against the Bears defense, which has allowed more rushing yards then you would expect lately. Add Wells if you need some help at tailback.
Mark Ingram, Saints
It?s not just that he?s coming off of his best game and has intriguing numbers.? It?s the way Ingram has been running the ball. He?s showing burst. He is running through arm tackles. He looks like a guy with a solid future. His rise in performance level is not unlike what we saw from C.J. Spiller at the end of 2011. Ingram can help you this upcoming weekend if you need a running back in 12-team leagues. He?s also a guy to remember for 2013.
Jackie Battle, Chargers
With Ronnie Brown banged up and Ryan Mathews done for 2012, Battle is a player that can help you in Week 16. Add him if you need an option at tailback and consider adding him if your opponent was playing Mathews. Hey, it?s a zero-sum game.
Alex Green, Packers
He?s still the back to own in Green Bay and we think he will continue to get better. He?s just a flex option in larger leagues right now, but he looks better and better in the Packers offense and we expect him to be more involved as things progress. His value gets a bump in PPR formats.
Danny Woodhead, Patriots
He is always going to be a bit intermittent, but with Stevan Ridley?s fumbling woes, Woodhead could be worth a roll of the dice in large formats if you need help at your flex spot. He could see plenty of time next week as we expect a thorough blowout of the Jaguars.
WIDE RECEIVERS?
T.Y. Hilton, Colts
He did it again. Hilton found the zone and made the big play in Week 15. It?s now to the point where you want to get this guy in your weekly lineup unless you are stacked at receiver. He is making big plays every week and he is now one of Andrew Luck?s go-to guys.
Riley Cooper, Eagles
He?s an afterthought for some reason, but we like this kid a lot and he is starting now in the wake of DeSean Jackson?s season-ending injury. He can help you in big leagues for sure if you are thin at receiver or your flex spot. He has a good chance to score every week.
Justin Blackmon, Jaguars
He seems to have arrived somewhat and has built a solid rapport with new QB Chad Henne. He followed up an active Week 14 with another active week and we like his chances of posting solid number versus the Patriots in Week 16. Blackmon has been targeted over 20 times in the last two games and can be had in 40 percent of Yahoo leagues.
Alshon Jeffery, Bears
He?s looking good out there as far as his health is concerned, and he has a sweet matchup against the Cardinals in Week 16. Jeffery can help you if you need a flex option in a large league.
TIGHT ENDS
Dennis Pitta, Ravens
If you read Rotobahn, then you know we like Pitta. He?s been on fire lately and he looks like a great play this weekend. Add him in all formats and league sizes as a TE1 for Week 16.
Antonio Gates, Chargers
He?s not a stud any longer. Not in this year?s San Diego offense anyway. But he is a viable TE1 play in Week 16 going against the Jets, who often give up big plays to tight ends.
Martellus Bennett, Giants
He had a down Week 15, but he?d been solid the last few weeks going in and should be a decent play in Week 16 if you need a tight end.
Tony Scheffler, Lions
For big leagues only. Scheffler wasn?t anything special last week, but the Lions struggled against Arizona. We expect him to bounce back and make some plays this week. He can help you in big leagues if you need a body.
