-The UK?s leading winter gritting and snow clearance specialist continues its award winning success-

GRITIT, the UK?s leading winter gritting and snow clearance specialist, has won the ?SME of the Year? at The Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards (TVBMA). The news follows hot-on-the heels of GRITIT?s recent short-listing for Company of the Year in the Growing Business Awards[1], and its Smarta 100[2] award win.

The TVBMA recognise the outstanding achievements of businesses headquartered in the Thames Valley. The James Cowper SME of the Year Award category is open to businesses with an annual?turnover between ?500K & ?10m. Judges considered factors including: current business performance, growth over the past two years, potential for future growth in years ahead, examples of innovation and contribution to the industry and/or to the business community.

Commenting on GRITIT?s success, Nikki Singh-Barmi, managing director, said: ?We are delighted to have won this award, and believe it reflects the hard work and dedication of the team. We are immensely proud of our staff and their unfailing commitment to deliver real excellence.

?GRITIT is customer focussed in the extreme. Our sole aim is to protect our customers against the physical and financial losses caused by harsh winter weather. And, as a result, we both lead and innovate in our specialist sector.

?In recent months, the company has won or been short-listed for a number of prestigious business awards. We hope to replicate this success in the years to come, as we continue to expand our service offering.?

The awards were presented by Dragon?s Den guest of honour, Hilary Devey. Commenting on GRITIT?s win, the judging panel stated: ?From the humblest of beginnings to a profitable, multi-million turnover organisation with a blue-chip client base, GRITIT has demonstrated the very essence of entrepreneurialism to grow the business so successfully.

?With a ?can-do? attitude which resonates throughout the business, huge growth has been experienced on the back of outstanding customer service, staff empowerment and major innovation and investment in technology.?
